I hope you are finding the current series of Devotions interesting as we journey through Job together.
I wonder if I could draw your attention to a few things and ask for some responses.
Every so often people write and ask me to change their email address – it’s much easier (for me at least!) if you follow the link at the bottom of each Devotion “update my mailing preferences” and there update your email address. It’s a quick job for you but quite a long one for me if several people ask me to do this.
Some people are finding their Devotions don’t reach them and one or two are finding they are being automatically unsubscribed from the list. We’ve changed some of the settings on the email programme that sends these out and on the Church House server so that more seem to get through Spam Filters however, some Spam Filters treat any bulk email with caution – and these go out to around 2,000 people a day. If you find that Devotions go astray first check your Spam/Junk folder. If they are there simply marking them as “not spam” should teach your email programme to accept them. You may find that adding firstname.lastname@example.org to your contact list helps. You may also need to find out how to add this email address to your Internet Service Provider’s “Safe Senders” list.
We’re always looking for news about how people use the Devotions and what difference they make in your journey of discipleship. If you get a moment could you drop me an email back saying where you use them – do you read them on your phone, on a tablet, or on a computer? Do you read them at home, whilst travelling, in the gym or somewhere else? What difference have they made to you? We hope to be able to use some of feedback to promote the Devotions even more widely.
with every good wish
